  • How Do Google Vehicle Ads Work?

    To show the ads on Google your stock will need to be uploaded, like with any online marketplace like Autotrader or Motors.

    From here, the stock feed needs to be linked to your Google Ads account so the ads can be promoted when people search for a vehicle, for example '2017 Blue Volkswagen Golf near me'. It is important to have tracking on your website flawlessly syncing with Google else there will be inefficiencies in what you’re spending. Once a customer clicks your ad, they will be taken through to your website to view the vehicle in more detail before hopefully completing a purchase. We will look after this for you, though.

    If the customer doesn't complete the deal, Google will tactically place ads on websites the user subsequently visits (retargeting) to try and entice them back to complete the deal.

  • How much do I need to spend on Google Vehicle Ads?

    There is no set rule for how much or how little to spend on the vehicle ads as it is very dependent on how many cars you hold in stock. Google has suggested a monthly spend of £1,000 for an 'average' car dealership.

  • How many cars do I need to advertise on Google Vehicle Ads?

    There is no set minimum or maximum cars needed to advertise on the platform.

  • When does Google Vehicle Ads launch to all users?

    There is no set date for when Google Vehicle Ads will launch to all users but we would expect this to be in Q3/Q4 of 2024. It is important to have everything ready for this date however as the early adopters will be the ones who see the most benefit.

  • Why do I need to be using Google Vehicle Ads?

    In the UK currently, 79% of people find their vehicle online. A typical user journey before vehicle ads was to search a generic used term which would lead to AutoTrader/Motors/CarGurus being shown. The customer would then go onto these websites and search for their used cars from there.

    In the majority of these cases, the user is using Google to find other websites. By having your cars showing on Google you are stopping these potential customers from going to these sites by showing your vehicles upfront, giving you a competitive advantage over other dealerships.

  • How do I get on the Beta for vehicle ads testing?

    To get onto the Beta you will need to sign up above to one of the 3 packages and we will start the process of getting your dealership live. 

    Each dealer is different and has different levels of Google Ads already in place (if at all) so some may take longer as we set these up.
